Accessing The Dashboard
The dashboard is very simple to access, and there are two ways of accessing it.
Direct access
The first option is to connect a keyboard, mouse and monitor (via HDMI) into the device. Once the device is powered on the dashboard will automatically display in full-screen mode and you will be able to operate the device.
The device is designed to operate in a headless state. This means once you have started a build you can close the dashboard, or remove any peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc) and the device will continue to operate normally.
Network access
The device also exposes a web interface available on the standard http port (i.e. 80).
During commissioning the Instruct3D team will help you find your local IP address.
Then all you need to do is find another device (e.g. laptop) on the same network and type the IP address into your browser. The dashboard should load up.
For example:
http://192.168.1.60
If you need help identifying the IP address of your device, follow these steps:
- Connect directly to the device using a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
- Exit 'kiosk' mode by pressing
Alt + F4, you will now have access to the underlying operating system. - Open a terminal and type
ifconfig.
